Platform Engineer (Contract).
Pune, India · Remote · Independent contractor
We're looking for a Platform Engineer with deep Infrastructure-as-Code and Kubernetes automation experience. You'll drive the services that let us provision a dedicated VPC per customer, deploy bespoke software into it, and host the result under SLA — combining OpenTofu, Helm, Argo CD, Python, CRDs, and LLM-powered autonomous workflows.
Key responsibilities.
Infrastructure-as-Code.
OpenTofu + cloud CLIs.
Implement robust IaC automation across cloud providers using OpenTofu and provider-native CLIs.
Version-controlled provisioning.
Manage provisioning, configuration, and scaling of cloud resources under version control.
Kubernetes automation.
Helm, Argo CD, Python.
Automate Kubernetes workflows using Helm charts, Argo CD pipelines, and Python tooling.
CI/CD pipelines.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable deployments across customer VPCs.
Customer integration.
Production-grade Helm charts.
Containerize and integrate customer-facing software with secure, production-grade Helm charts.
Reliability + security.
Ensure every integration ships with the reliability and security posture our SLAs require.
Platform engineering with CRDs.
Custom Resource Definitions.
Design and implement Kubernetes CRDs that encapsulate platform services and operator workflows.
LLM-powered autonomous work.
Agents in the operational loop.
Use large language models to drive autonomous platform operations and extend what the team can ship.
AI-assisted engineering.
Integrate AI tooling into the engineering workflow to improve code quality, throughput, and operational decisions.
Enterprise security.
IAM, roles, policies.
Implement cloud security practices end-to-end: identity, roles, policies, and access controls across customer environments.
Network security.
Configure secure ingress and the rest of the network surface inside every deployment.
Compliance-compatible code.
Write code that meets SOC 2, GDPR, and other compliance standards we hold on behalf of customers.
What you bring.
Proven Kubernetes experience.
Extensive experience with containerized applications, Helm, Argo CD, and custom CRD development.
Python development skills.
Proficiency in Python for automation scripting and microservice development.
Infrastructure-as-Code expertise.
Demonstrable experience with OpenTofu, Terraform, or similar IaC tools and working with cloud provider CLIs.
Cloud services knowledge.
Hands-on experience managing AWS, GCP, Azure, or European providers — with a focus on security, scalability, and reliability.
Must have.
Proficiency in the above.

AI-native engineering.
You must be proficient at using Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent assistants in your daily workflow.
Nice to have.
Observability.
Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, or similar observability stacks.
Event-driven architectures.
Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other event-driven systems.
API integrations.
Expertise integrating Slack, Twilio, payment gateways, and similar platforms.
Security + compliance depth.
Deep knowledge of IAM, RBAC, and least-privilege design.
Important. You must be legally registered as an independent contractor or entity to engage on a contract basis.
